HISTORY
The Greater Lawrence Council of Churches, founded in 1947, is a collaborative of Catholic and Protestant churches in the communities of Andover, Lawrence, Methuen and North Andover.

Over its history, the council has and continues to offer and support many community programs that would be beyond the scope of individual member churches. In addition, the Council maintains strong affiliations with other community outreach organizations such as Bread & Roses, Lazarus House, and Neighbors in Need.

The council is managed by an executive committee consisting of a President, First and Second Vice Presidents, Secretary and Treasurer. The officers are elected at an annual meeting by the delegates from the member churches. An executive director, an administrative assistant and a director of Children's Outreach manage the daily operations of the council.

Local councils are not formally affiliated with State, National, and World Councils, but do work with them.
